DJ Daddy's Info
My name is DJDaddy (a.k.a. Clint McJenkin). I am a working professional DJ/entertainer in the mobile/club DJ industry working from the Tuscaloosa, AL area. I currently hold a residency at Banana Joe's in Birmingham, AL. I have been asked a thousand times why they call me DJDaddy. Well, here it is - the name came from a local radio personality (Speed Racer from the Rick & Bubba Show) doing some emcee work in Industry several years ago. He needed something new to call me; and it just so happened that my son was born the same day he started in the bar. So DJDaddy was born!
I have played bars, nightclubs, and private events all over the country over my career. Way too many to mention here. But some of my more memorable, long-term residencies were regional places like The Circuit, The Quest, Industry, Venue 1215, Rhythm & Brews, Spinners, and of course Banana Joe's. But that is a small sampling of my total professional experience.
I own and operate a full service consulting company (8ohm) that provides a broad array of services. We provide DJ services for private events through SoundPro Disc Jockeys - events such as weddings, school dances, private parties, etc with full light and sound packages for crowds and events of all shapes and sizes nationwide; Entertainment sub-contracting for bar & nightclub conglomerates; full management, marketing, and promotion consulting for entertainment related business; in-house graphic design services; and much more.
I have been in the DJ business for going on 10 years in almost ever facet. I literally play every type of music to every type of crowd nationwide, 52 weekends a year. I take great pride in being an entertainer first! I firmly believe the value of a good DJ lies more in the programming and the microphone skill rather than the mix. Its about the entertainment value you provide as a DJ, not the mix. Anybody can learn to mix; a trained monkey can learn to mix. But it takes years of practice and trial and error to truly become an entertainer! I have said for many years that a professional DJ (any 8ohm DJ) could walk into a club, never mix, and keep the crowd rocking all night using good song selection and a lot of attention to the crowd. All of our DJs are trained on that philosophy. That has given us a distinct advantage in this business over the years. We have a strong national clientele that prefer our entertainment services over local, lower cost, services.
I personally use a plethora of equipment depending on the show and the venue. I don't have a lot of preference. I do tend to stick to professional equipment like Denon & Pioneer CD players, Technic turntables, Rane, Vestax, Denon, Pioneer mixers, Ortofon needles, Odyssey racks, etc. I gather music from an array of sources. Ultimix, Hot Tracks, SelectMix, and a few other sources supply is with the best and latest in all type of dance music.
I am available for some limited bookings nationwide, 365 days per year. Contact me for more info.
