I have a need for an intern to be a part of the morning show that will give that person a great experience in live radio. This is not a behind-the-scenes position. This is an on-air opportunity! This position needs to be filled ASAP.
The show currently consists of mostly music with a little talk and local updates thrown in. We have been working in the studio to get it ready for a more interactive morning show. I knew this was a work in progress when I started; and it is still moving forward. Things are going to change rapidly as we grow over the coming weeks and months. Thus the need for more hands on deck. My vision is to be more 50% talk/fun and 50% music.
This is a great opportunity for a Communications or PR major to gain invaluable experience in the real world of live radio.
I need an intern for the following responsibilities:
• Mon-Fri 6am to 8am on 102.9 Jack FM for the DJDaddy Morning Show located in Tuscaloosa, AL.
• Intern will interact with existing on-air talent & guest throughout the show and at live remotes
• Schedule & arrange interviews
• Collaborate on the development & production of creative segments and news stories
• On-air / Live remote production, traffic, weather, etc.
• General duties - answering phones, managing contest, taking pictures, managing social media content, etc.
Ideal candidate must:
• Have outstanding work ethic!!!
• Have outgoing personality!!!
• Be a communications/PR/Marketing Major (or some similar field
with relevance)
• Being prompt on a daily basis.
• Be professional with guest & clients.
This is a great opportunity for someone to have a big part in a radio production and gain real world experience. A lot of previous on-air experience is not required. The personality and willingness to dive in head first matters more. This position is not financially compensated.
If you are qualified and interested, email DJDaddy (dj at djdaddy dot com) with your qualifications, schedule, vision, major/minor, education & work goals, and any other relevant information. Tell me why you should get this position. A live morning in the studio with me could be required before a final decision is made. So be prepared...
